SARAH JOY RAISES £1718 FOR THE LEAGUE OF FRIENDS BY HOLDING A SPONSORED 'HEAD SHAVE'
At Nether Stowey on Sunday 3rd July 2022, Sarah Joy Pearson had her head shaved to raise funds through the League of Friends for the Distric Nurses who had cared for her father Rob and supported her whole family up until the time he passed away.
Sarah Joy set up a 'Just Giving' page in favour of the League of Friends and within a very short time had received a substantial number of sponsors and was even been mentioned on Radio 2's Michael Ball Show.
Sarah's hair was donated to 'The Little Princess Appeal' which provides wigs for children.
We would like to thank Sarah Joy for her courage and generosity in taking on this challenge.

FORMER BRIDGWATER COLLEGE ACADEMY STUDENTS CLIMB MOUNT SNOWDON AND RAISE £650 FOR THE LEAGUE OF FRIENDS
Hollie Wilkins (Head Girl) and Zuzanna Jablonska (Senior Ambassador), both former students at Bridgwater College Academy, successfully climb Mount Snowdon on 17th June 2021 raising a brilliant £650 to help the League of Friends purchase more important equipment for the hospital. After graduating from the Academy they decided they wanted to do something to support the community and, on advice from one of their former tutors, chose Bridgwater Hospital as a cause worth supporting.
Despite having to observe social distancing rules, on 1st July, Hollie and Zuzanna proudly presented a cheque to Matron Norma Coombes and Mary Porter from the League of Friends.
In accepting the cheque Norma said "We would like to thank the girls for thinking of us and wish them well in the future as they now wish to tackle Mount Kilimanjaro! Good Luck and thank you again."
During 2019, the League of Friends was lucky enough to be included as one of the causes sponsored by the Coop Local Community Fund.
Members of the Coop raised £4654.79 towards our fund for refurbishing the two patient lounges in Waverley Ward. For which we are very grateful.
